The HS-A1 product series includes two models, HS-A1C and HS-A1D, which differ in terms of the number of CPU cores (from 16 to 56), amount of ECC memory (from 4TB to 8TB), and processor type (from Intel Xeon E5 family to Intel Xeon Phi family). In June 2017 Supermicro launched the new A2P system in the HPC market. The A2P is a 12 CPU system based on Intel’s Skylake architecture with up to 288 PCIe lanes per socket, up to 1 TB RAM per node, four 10 GbE ports per node, and support for 24 x 40 NVMe/SAS SSDs per node.
Supermicro also offers entry-level servers based on AMD EPYC processors that come at a lower cost than comparable Intel servers but have a similar density as compared to comparison with comparable Intel servers.Supermicro has also developed a line of high-performance external graphics processing units (eGPU) for use with laptops and other devices. The products in the eGPU series are based on AMD’s Polaris architecture and support up to three GPUs per board, each of which can be configured as a PCIe root complex, PCIe child comparable Supermicro servers but with more expensive AMD EPYC processors.

The products in the series are based on SATA 6Gbps drives but have support for NVMe SSDs, PCIe SSDs, and flash arrays.
